Install Android Studio

In this article, we will learn how to install Android Studio and how to set it up.
This tutorial is based on Windows platform but you can install it on Mac or Linux also.

So let’s start

For setting up Environment to develop Android App you need to download these components

1.First download Java Development Kit

2.Now Download Android Studio

Now follow these steps to setup IDE

1.Install JDK

2.Install Android Studio

3.Follow steps to set the path of JDK/JRE in Java installation directory.
  • Go to location where you have installed JDK and copy its location, It may look like this >> C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.7.0_79\jre
  • Now go to >> Control Panel\System and Security\System and Open Advanced System Settings in left pane.
  • Click on Environment Variable button

  • Environment Variables dialog appears. Click New under System Variables.

  • Now add Enter Variable name as JAVA_HOME and Variable value as path of JRE folder we have copied.

We are almost finished, Android Studio may take some time to download Android SDK tools and Support repositories, and it will be done automatically.

Once installed you will see this window, Now we can start developing Apps.
